Robert Wilkinson TV Interview on Bridging Heaven and Earth

Thank you for the words of wisdom. They hit home. Patience...of special note I'd like to share with those on the Path is the book "My Big TOE" (Theory of Everything)...it is a brilliant, spiritual, loving conversation and exposition that ties metaphysics, quantum physics and life...it has made practicing patience and not taking things personally much more natural, more spontaneous. The only clue that it is relatively 'easy' is seeing how those around me are losing it. I know I would be in a way more hotter mess if not for Thomas Campbell's masterful work of a book...Thank you, Sir Robert, for being the space of wisdom, love and gratitude...Infinite blessings to you...<3

Being born with Saturn conjunct North Node means I am freaking used to this energy. (sighs) Even though I *could* move quicker, I've been more drawn to laying a strong foundation, brick by brick. And have found that trying to rush into things without stopping to read the fine print or being cautious tends backfire with a gusto. But on the upside, authority figures tend to be quite lucky if you stop long enough to pay attention to the advice they are giving --implied or explicit. This energy is slightly nicer with the Venus conjunct but with all three bodies in Scorpio, I can only glean that a lot of what is transpiring is far beneath the surface of life's niceties and will surely show its face in time. A strong, steady beautiful rosebush. And lots of thorns to be trimmed. Hence Saturn in Scorpio style :)

honestly i don't feel that sludgy or stuck this week, just more relaxed. last week i had a humanitarian concern with a neighbor that seemed to be unmovable but it has worked itself out due to the greater universal forces. i'm actually very patient and calm in spite of things- must be my maturity kicking in. i have fixed signs on the angles, Aquarius rising. Venus is conjunct my Saturn in Scorpio and Mars just crossed my Venus in Leo. thank you for another interesting article! namaste :)

Robert, your reponse to Mlmcinnis was wonderful. It really resonated with me. I love reading your wonderful words; wish I understood more about the planets, etc. but look forward to seeing you out here. Bev

Thank you so much for illuminating this sludgy challenging time so succinctly and framing my exact experiences threefold. Holding on, staying centered, constantly revisiting focus, purpose, spiritual path for centering ... my mantra is "don't push the river" while the swirling currents impede progress - I am the rock, the fish, the caught up leaf piles ... the glint of light, the shadows, the rooted tree. I will revisit these words again and again for solace and guidance.

I agree...!
Thank you for your comforting words Robert, which have certainly made me think, and feel a whole lot better today. Let's hope these sludgy times shift on sooner rather than later! I am feeling exactly everything you describe in your article; I am in a merry sludge dance with my next employer waiting to start work, and every week I say "I will start work next Monday!" and ...another week goes by. Certainly had moments of feeling like pulling my hair out or losing my temper with a frustrating process of bureaucrazy! (Had my interview on the 6th of August) Really hoping this energy shifts soon for everyone...!:-)

The last time I heard painstaking struggle about time was from a writer during the saturn uranus opposition. Would the triseptile between those two be twerking the perception of time.

Am also thinking about jupiter being in the zone of its upcoming retrograde where it will square uranus and oppose pluto. Speed is measured by distance (jupiter) and time (saturn).

But that doesn't explain the energy force needed to do work or move objects. And I suppose that would fall in mars domain.

My understanding of this article and thus, the present time goes along the lines of this:

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own"

I believe a well known historical figure that leads one of the most successful religions in the world said that.

Good post and your feedback made it even more clear. ...All cannot understand by brain.

I have felt even love in past weeks. Clumsy, no even good planned, who knows how weak.
...But I have also played more piano. That is a good sign - good enough.

Thank you as always for your wise words. We Texicans know the story of the two vultures sitting on a power line in the desert of West Texas. After sitting there for three days with nothing to eat or drink, finally one vulture looks at the other one and says-"Patience my ass, I'm going to kill something!"

Thank you Robert.

I have been feeling rather sluggish :-) for the past couple of days myself and what I have been doing during this slow period is watching tons of movies on Netflix online, mostly Masterpiece Theater films :-) Things like Great Expectations by Charles Dickens etc. and I am really enjoying it.

Last night around sunset I looked out my study window and there was a big and long slug moving her way up my window :-)

I immediately knew that this was a sign and I looked up what slug totem medicine means. It is very similar to what you shared in this article and resonated very much with me:

''Slug

Slug teaches to smoothly move in your surroundings. She shows the art of pacing oneself and focusing on the goal along with determination, strength and persistence. She shows how to move in a slow and steady pace by grounding in attitudes and principles all the while taking small steps toward the goal. Slug teaches the power of letting go of what is not needed. Letting go of harmful thoughts, ideals and emotions, this is how to move forward! It is time to "leave it behind." She also teaches navigational abilities and agility in the dark, unknown and all that is hidden with confidence. Heightened sensitivity to vibrations, the ability to see with clarity and the tactics of reservation and withdrawal when needed. Slug will show when to move and times to rest. There is great power in this timing. Pay attention to your perceptions and senses along with your dreams for they will aid you in the direction you should be going. Slow down and enjoy the moment.''

Happy 2013 Video Birthday to Cass Elliot, Bill Medley, and Paul Williams

Today we send out a Happy Birthday to two incredibly gifted vocalists and a great composer!

Cass Elliot (September 19, 1941 – July 29, 1974), of course, was THE VOICE in the Mamas and the Papas. She died way too young of a heart attack at age 32 in 1974 (NOT choking on a sandwich), but her powerful pipes left us some beautiful music for the ages. Today we have a few of her best!

From the Smothers Brothers show in 1968, Cass doing "Dream a little dream of me." Here's another great version in b/w of Cass doing "Dream a little dream of me."

Here are the the Mamas and the Papas at Monterrey Pop doing their iconic first hit that took the country by storm, "California Dreamin'."

Here’s a good clip pieced together from several performances of their iconic song, “California Dreamin’

At the Hollywood Palace in 1966, the Mamas and the Papas lip-synching their monster hit, "Monday Monday."

Here they are in 1966 doing the oh so soulful (and thought to be revolutionary at the time!) “Dancing In the Streets”

From 1967 on Ed Sullivan, here they are live doing their autobiographical hit “Creeque Alley”

Also from Ed Sullivan, here are the Mamas and Papas live with Cass out front, belting out “Words of Love”

Here’s one of Cass’ signature tunes, done in 1967 with the Mamas and the Papas, “Sing For Your Supper”

From 1968, a live performance of a great honky tonk arrangement of a tune originally written by John Lennon, "I Call Your Name."

You can hear here powerful soaring voice in other Mamas and Papas hits! Here are the original studio versions of:

“I Saw Her Again Last Night”

“Twelve Thirty”

“I Call Your Name”

“Dedicated To the One I Love”

From her post-Mamas and the Papas career, a special treat! Mama Cass, Mary Travers, and Joni Mitchell doing Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released."

Here’s a great medley of Cass with Tom Jones in a live video duet! From 1969, “One Night,” “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man,” and “I Guess I’ll Always Love You”

Also from 1969, very much live with her beautiful voice in full bloom, “Cass Elliot performing live on the Johnny Cash Show”

Here’s a hit for Cass in 1969 after she went solo! “It’s Getting Better”

From 1972, Mama Cass and Julie Andrews doing a great medley of Simon and Garfunkel songs! "59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy), Sounds of Silence, Mrs. Robinson, Scarborough Fair, Homeward Bound, Bridge Over Troubled Waters."

From the Midnight Special tv show in 1972, Mama Cass and John Denver doing "Leaving on a Jet Plane."

Cass solo live doing her hit "Make Your Own Kind of Music."

We'll close with a studio version set to still photos of Cass doing "Does Anybody Love You."

Now we move to Bill Medley, the extremely soulful voice of the Righteous Brothers. One of the top groups in the 60s, Bill Medley (September 19, 1940) and Bobby Hatfield (August 10, 1940 – November 5, 2003) could send cold chills through your spine with their soaring melodies and harmonies! For your birthday enjoyment, here are the Righteous Brothers!

Here they are in b/w on Shindig doing their first major breakthrough, the Phil Spector produced blue eyed Soul monster hit "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling." Here they are again in 2003 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions in great form doing "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."

Live in 1966, here they are doing “(You're My) Soul And Inspiration." Here’s another live performance on Hullabaloo from 1966 of “(You’re My) Soul and Inspiration.”

From 1965, a great live performance of "Just Once In My Life."

Here they are on Shindig in 1964 doing a dynamite song that Bill wrote and Mitch Ryder rode into the top 20, "Little Latin Lupe Lu." Also from Shindig in 1964, the Righteous Brothers doing "Let The Good Times Roll."

I found a great 15 minute clip of several Righteous Brothers performances on Shindig! For your enjoyment, the Righteous Brothers live performing “Justine,” “Just Once In My Life,” “Little Latin Lupe Lu,” “The Night Time is the Right Time,” and a brief clip of “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” (in the segment of “The Night Time” they’re backed by the Blossoms and Darlene Love, the voice of the Crystals and “He’s A Rebel”)

Also from Shindig in 1965, Bobby and Bill live, backed by the Blossoms, doing 7 minutes of “Unchained Melody” and “Fare Thee Well”

For our finale, Bobby and Bill live in 1983 at LA’s Roxy Theatre! We start with “The Old Time Rock and Roll”

Also from the Roxy, “Soul and Inspiration” and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’”

Want more? Here’s Bobby and Bill doing the Sam and Dave monster hits, “Hold On I’m Comin’” and “Soul Man”

Finishing this brief set at the Roxy, here’s a 15 minute medley of “Ebb Tide,” “Georgia On My Mind,” “Let It Be Me,” “Guess Who,” “Just Once In My Life,” and “Rock and Roll Heaven”

From 1981, doing a live performance of their final major hit, "Rock and Roll Heaven."

We'll finish Bill's birthday salute with 7 1/2 minutes of him performing live in 2006, led by a montage before the performances. Bill Medley live in Branson MO.

For our encore, we'll finish Bill's birthday salute with 59 minutes of the Righteous Brothers performing live. The Righteous Brothers – Legends in Concert

We close today's birthday celebration with a toast to the great Paul Williams (who is not the Paul Williams of the Temptations, nor the boxer, nor the rock critic!) From Wikipedia, Paul Williams (September 19, 1940) is "an Academy Award-winning American composer, musician, songwriter, and actor.... best known for popular songs performed by a number of acts in the 1970s including Three Dog Night's "An Old Fashioned Love Song", Helen Reddy's "You and Me Against the World", and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" and "Rainy Days and Mondays", as well as his contributions to films such as "Evergreen" from A Star Is Born and "Rainbow Connection" from The Muppet Movie." So here they all are!

I saw these guys back in the early 70s, and they put on an amazing stage show. With 3 lead singers, it was quite an experience! For your enjoyment, Three Dog Night live in 1975 doing Paul's composition, "Old Fashioned Love Song."

Here's Helen Reddy in a duet with Kermit the Frog doing Paul's song "You And Me Against The World."

Here are the Carpenters on MTV doing two of Paul's tunes. "We've Only Just Begun" and "Rainy Days And Mondays."

From "A Star is Born," the divine Ms. Barbra Streisand doing "Evergreen." Here she is again live on New year's Eve 1993, doing "Evergreen."

We'll close today's birthday celebration with a song sung by Kermit the Frog for The Muppet Movie. This was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song in 1979, when the single of this song reached #25 on Billboard's "Hot 100 Singles" chart. For your enjoyment, Kermit (Jim Henson) singing the Paul Williams composition "The Rainbow Connection."

I hope you've enjoyed this birthday blast through the past as we also join with millions pondering the global importance of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Avast ye lubbers - time to celebrate! Arrrrgh......

A Television Interview Where I Go Into A Lot Of Things!
Robert Wilkinson TV Interview on Bridging Heaven and Earth

If you grieve the death of a loved one
My book, "Love Dad," and how to heal your grief.

The Sun is the third planet in the “firing sequence” of the T-square. We now get the light of what we experienced via Venus triggering the Grand Cross in mid-August and then Mercury triggering the Cross from Libra in mid-September. We got a dose of what this was about when Venus was in early Libra and triggered the Grand Cross. The Sun now powers up and vitalizes the T-square with Uranus and Pluto, but is still about 7-10 days of making the square to Jupiter, and by then it will no longer be square Pluto.

HOWEVER! Keep in mind that the Venus square Mars is still VERY close in orb, and therefore extraordinarily powerful. Just because something is separating does not mean it has no influence.

At this time, Venus is semisquare the Sun, semisquare Pluto, and sesquisquare Uranus. Mars is semisquared by the Sun, and sesquisquare both Uranus and Pluto. That makes for 5 points of a Great Octile. These are all frictional aspects. Whether internal or external crises and turning points, and/or aggravations and events that prod us forward, this is what’s in the air at this time.

This set incorporates the 7-12 degree spans of the Cardinal signs mentioned earlier and adds another 4 zones at 22-27 of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius to the mix. If you have anything in any of these 8 degree spans (or a couple of degrees to either side) then you’re going through inner changes, outer challenges of integration practice, and things that are pushing you forward not to a crisis, but to a quickened drumbeat (that may not be comfortable!)

This is going on for the next few days, so heads up! What needs elimination so you can purify some element of your body, feelings, or mind? What needs balancing, with kindness, so you can either a) come up for air, or b) rededicate yourself to a deeper experience of your life as an archetypal process? We’ve all been “cut and polished” so we could acquire a social value, and only need remember that humor and a sense of the irony of things as we explore the deeper Mysteries of life is the only way to travel!!

This period initiates a new type of larger service for many, as well as a time of training, resoluteness, and patience. Our valor is being tested in ways that could be of value in our social existence. There are transmutations to be had after we eliminate or purify whatever needs it, and for many, it’s a new day, a new world, and a new life to be appreciated.

And friction. A lot of it moving us forward, in numerous ways. Friction can be a good thing if it spurs us to move on behalf of our higher interests. As one great one put it, “very little of lasting value has ever been created in comfort.”

So act with all the heart indicated by Mars in Leo, with the light of a balanced perspective via the Sun in Libra. It’s the surfacing of new individuality and the fulfillment of the old Pluto function for the past 9 months. Venus in Scorpio can focus its intensity to express the heart of Mars in Leo in simple, enjoyable, detached, and genuinely friendly ways while the Sun shows us how to implement techniques of caring and nurture we practiced in June and July.

Be thoughtful as you move through the intensified flow and friction shown by these 5 planets in Octile relationships. As it involves Sun, Venus, Mars, Uranus, and Pluto, there are personal, social, and transpersonal elements that will be set into motion. Where they fall in your chart, and what houses they rule, will show you what’s in play for you.

Here’s what I wrote explaining what was happening regarding the Cardinal T-squares and Grand Crosses back when Mercury was in early Libra: Astrology in September 2013 – There’s Another Grand Cardinal Cross Coming Down Now

And it may help to re-read this one explaining Venus in Scorpio square Mars in Leo which has pretty much dominated recent weeks.

More than 800 Scientists Affirm There Is No Doubt that Humans Are Responsible for Global Warming

Not to bring bad news, but most readers of this column already knew about this report. This is just more confirmation.

From the NBC story by John Roach, Final verdict expected Friday: Humans caused global warming we read “An international panel of scientists is expected to issue a report Friday that dismisses nearly every doubt that human activity has caused temperatures to warm, glaciers to melt, and seas to bulge since the middle of last century. If greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise precipitously, the report will warn, there will be catastrophic consequences.”

This is the long-awaited Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, which synthesizes the work of over 800 scientists, and states it is “extremely likely” that we humans are influencing climate change. From the story:

This is the fifth assessment from the group, issued about once every five years. The degree of confidence that human activity is the main driver of the changing climate has risen with each report.

"Another five years of observation and further research just strengthens the conclusion" that human activity is causing the climate to change, John Reilly, the co-director of the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change in Cambridge, Mass., told NBC News...

Other anticipated highlights from the report include a projection that sea levels could rise nearly three feet by the end of the century if greenhouse gas emissions remain unchecked, which would pose significant adaptation challenges for some of the world's major cities, including New York, New Orleans, Miami, London and Shanghai....

Another widely anticipated change to the report reflects increased uncertainty on how much the Earth's surface will warm if concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere double. Five years ago, the climate panel put the best guess range between 3.2 and 7.1 degrees Fahrenheit. The leaked draft suggested that the final figures this time around could represent a much wider range: a lower possible low, a higher possible high.

This possible downward revision in the rise of Earth's surface temperature, along with what's termed a "hiatus" in surface warming since the unusually strong El Nino year of 1998, have been pounced upon as reason to doubt the alarm over global climate change. The climate panel is expected to dismiss these claims, explaining the slow-down in surface warming as a blip in the long-term warming trend.

"The hiatus is a denier-manufactured diversion," Kevin Trenberth, a climate scientist with the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo., told NBC News via email. "The 2000s are the warmest decade on record by far," he explained, adding that, though the temperature readings are accurate, their use as evidence against global warming amounts to nothing more than an accounting trick: "By choosing a start year, it appears that the recent years are not increasing quite as fast as earlier ones after 1970, in terms of global mean surface temperature."

The most compelling explanation for the so-called hiatus, in fact, is that the oceans have been warming at a faster clip over the past 15 years, according to MIT's Reilly. "Greenhouse gases are still trapping heat but instead of staying in the atmosphere" — where it would be measured in a rise in surface temperature — "it has been mixed into the ocean," he explained.

"The hiatus, if anything, may just fool us because while the ocean is taking up more heat this past decade sometime in the future it may take up relatively less heat, and then we'll see the atmosphere warming just that much more," Reilly said.

Anyway, none of this is unexpected news to regular readers of this site. By all means go to the NBC link to catch the whole story, which has a lot more than I've quoted here. You can also find the IPCC report at various sources on the web.

The only thing I’ll remind you is that this report is a VERY conservative estimate of what’s going on. And the curve is getting steeper by the year. Future developments in this impending ecological disaster (from a human standpoint, not Nature’s) clearly indicate what’s coming on multiple fronts.

While it may or may not have a huge impact on those of us in our 60s and 70s (since we cannot exactly predict the tipping point when the Greenland ice sheet falls into the Atlantic, or how much will do so), it will most definitely affect the world our children and grandchildren will inherit. Whether the oceans rise a foot at a time, or 3-10 feet all at once, it will definitely affect everyone who lives near the ocean or a river, so make a long term plan and if appropriate, get your boats in shape!!

And this doesn’t even address the issue of how we’re impacting the Gulf Stream. If the heat/cool exchange pattern in the oceans is disrupted, then Europe gets a new ice age, and life on Earth is changed forever.

If anything is going to bring down our predatory “capitalism without conscience,” it will be the Earth Herself, since trading on Wall Street and London will be affected when the ground floor is under three feet of water. And to note, the insurance industry is headed for a doomsday scenario as the oceans rise.

I personally disagree, not into the either or black or white way of thinking, I agree we have had a severe effect for sure and I am doing my best to respect nature and her planet and not do what my species has done to make it far worse, but we werent responsible for the ice age either and quite frankly, if we dont adapt with the planetary changes, we dont survive. I am possibly alone in this thinking, but hey nothing new there and I respect freedom of choice, for each and all.

Happy 2013 RIP Birthday to Fenton Robinson

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota Aquarius Papers - Global Astrology: Happy 2013 RIP Birthday to Fenton Robinson Aquarius Papers - Global AstrologyUsing Astrology, Spirit, and Archetypes to move and groove through the intersections of fate and free will.

Yesterday, while following the echoes of my mind, I remembered a song. It turns out the composer's birthday was September 23, so I figured better a little late than never.

Fenton Robinson (September 23, 1935 - November 25, 1997) was a blues cat you probably never heard of, but he wrote one of the most performed blues songs ever done. For your consideration, the 12+ minute studio version of a tune made famous by the great Boz Scaggs back in 1969, accompanied by Duane "Sky Dog" Allman on blistering lead guitar and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section,

"Somebody Loan Me A Dime." (It really begins to smoke about 7 1/2 minutes in, so check it out!)

I also found a great live performance by Boz doing "Somebody Loan Me a Dime."

Here's Fenton performing his signature tune live in Holland in 1984. For your enjoyment, a much more standard blues delivery of "Somebody Loan Me A Dime."

Thanks for the song, Fenton. It haunted my life for many years a long time ago. RIP.

Astrology in late September 2013 – It’s a Venus square Mars weekend as Mercury enters Scorpio

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota

After dominating affairs the entire month of September, the squares between Leo and Scorpio are about to end! This is the last of the lot, and culminates tomorrow (Saturday) with Venus at 20 Scorpio and Mars at 20 Leo. All in all, as long as we don’t get distracted and see a way to coordinate things despite the cross currents, it should be good.

Some will see which way “the winds of destiny” are blowing, while others will receive a concrete signal and/or reward from Spirit for getting in gear in the recent past. It represents an entrance into an unknown zone, so connect with the Source and you’ll do fine.

It will most dramatically affect those with planets or angles near 18-22 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, as well as those born around the second week of February, May, August, and November. Keep fitting things into a long range perspective, learn how to keep several things in motion and not get thrown off balance, and show as much friendly detachment and a genuinely friendly manner as possible. It does mark the emergence of a new way of doing “Mars in Leo.”

On Sunday, early in the US, afternoon in Europe, Mercury leaves Libra and enters Scorpio, where it will go stationary retrograde on October 21 at 19 Scorpio. Start getting your ducks lined up, take care of paperwork and purchases you should not postpone, and get everything ready since Mercury will be slowing down for the next few weeks.

Of course, this will bring a greater intensity and scrutiny to the houses where we have Gemini and Virgo, as well as any planetary functions we may have represented by planets in those signs. In my own case, with Saturn in Virgo, it means my Saturn has been in a Libra phase of experience, and is about to go into a Scorpio phase of experience. I suppose that now that my Saturn has confronted a new archetype of expression these past few weeks, now it gets to go deeper.

It’s a great thing that we have Moon trine Venus on Saturday, harmonizing Venus so it can express through Mars. It opens 20 Pisces, so many will find what they need at the end of some phase of activity. Sunday’s Moon in Leo will use the air of Sun in Libra to flame on through the trine to Uranus, go use the inspiration to see a bigger view, a greater adventure, or simply a way to “travel,” whether literally or figuratively.

So the Moon is favorable to Venus on Saturday, while it is favorable to the Sun and Uranus on Sunday. Enjoy the closeness and the energy. This can help us regenerate through enjoying our ties with those who are close to us. Still, pay attention, since the Moon conjunct Mars square Venus in the Western Hemisphere on Monday , September 30, and in the Eastern Hemisphere on Tuesday, October 1, will show what the square is really all about.

Keep it simple, keep it pleasant, keep it friendly, keep it detached. Be direct and straightforward while keeping the focus on higher and broader things. See the ideal, and find a way to ground it, without emotional discontent and/or pride jamming the gears. There is great power in parting the veil and entering the unknown, with courage and willingness to put aside separateness and journey to Isis to find what She holds of answers to your Mysteries.
